The BHF launches The Big Stitch

Instead of buying a brand new outfit, the British Heart Foundation wants you to give an old one a stitchy update!

This July, the BHF will launch The Big Stitch, a campaign to encourage shoppers to reduce clothing waste.

Just pop into your local BHF charity shop, buy an item and customise it in whatever way you please. It’s the perfect chance for you to try adding some cross stitch to your clothes!

Best of all, you can use your finished piece to enter BHF’s The Big Stitch competition.

To enter, post ‘before’ and ‘after’ pieces of your updated clothing on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Be sure to tag the BHF and use the hashtag #TheBigStitch!

The competition runs from 1st July to 31st July, 2017.

The winner gets a special night out to a west end show with a friend and popular YouTuber Just Jodes

Need some inspo? YouTube sewist Just Jodes will post tutorials and tips on her YouTube channel. Or, just visit the BHF website!

All proceeds from the BHF charity shops goes to fight heart disease, one of the leading causes of death in the UK.
