Do you enjoy adding charms to your cross stitching? I do, and that's why I'm excited about the latest issue of The World of Cross Stitching!
I really enjoy adding any extra embellishments to my cross stitch designs. I'm an avid collector of beads, buttons and charms. I keep them in a pretty tin that used to belong to my grandma. It has special memories for me which makes it just perfect for storing some of my favourite trinkets.
I love adding a metal charm here or a tiny ladybird button there. On a large design it's fun to be able to hide them within the stitched areas. Sometimes they need to stand out rather than be hidden, so I just pop them on to add a bit of interest to a design.
Samplers are one of my favourite types of stitching and of course, they are just perfect for adding charms and pretty things. I have a wonderful anniversary sampler, which I have to admit I didn't stitch myself. It was given to me by a friend a few years ago. There are rows of pastel shaded stitches, pretty hearts stitched in metallics, and very dainty bell charms hung onto tiny pearl beads sitting across the centre. I just adore it!
Every reader of this month's issue of The World of Cross Stitching will get a wonderful pack of pretty charms with the magazine when they buy it. I have plans for mine. Let me know what you are going to do with yours!
Until next time, Anna x

I too love samplers in particular, and often add charms related to the subject of the stitching to add an extra dimension. Would love another DVD by the way filmed with Anna. I often still watch the one filmed three or four years ago in the meantime thank you for all the inspiration in the magazine and now on video slots.
