I’ve just got round to downloading my photos of a trip I took recently with some of the other stitching girls from Origin Publishing. We spent a weekend in a cottage in Wales, and I have to admit, it was the most beautiful cottage I’ve ever stayed in. What’s more, it was completely decked out with traditional cross stitch and tapestry inside, from the bed heads, to the coasters, cushions and pictures on the wall. It completely inspired me to introduce more cross stitch into my own home furnishings. Not only does it look beautiful, but it’s becoming very fashionable too, and I’ve seen it popping up in all sorts of home design magazines, including BBC Homes & Antiques.
I’ve uploaded some photos of the cottage, but I didn’t take nearly enough of the interiors! Anyway, the Welsh cottage inspired issue 68 of Cross Stitch Gold – on sale 4th August 2009. It’s full of great cross stitch ideas for the home, including exclusive Zweigart designs. Don’t miss it!
