Confession time...

We all have a favourite piece of stitching that we've loved from the first moment we saw it...
My Favourite Cross Stitch Kit
Confession time...I remember travelling to the States a few years ago and visiting Janlynn and that's where I first saw 'Collecting Shells'. The artist is a lady called Nancy Cole, who is well known for her paintings of children on the beach. I remember talking so much about this kit at the time that I was given it as a gift, lucky me! I used to get it out from time to time and look at it. Haven't we all done that at one time, or another? When I moved house I gave my mum the kit, yes I still hadn't got around to stitching it!

For my birthday this year I received this beautifully stitched design all nicely framed and ready to hang on my wall at home. On the back my mum had written her name and the date she'd finished it, which is a neat idea if you're making a family piece. I just love it and even more so because my mum stitched it for me. I know she's spent hours on it and it means all the more to me because of the love that's gone into every tiny stitch. It reminds me of my trip to the States and makes me smile whenever I look at it, even on rainy days like today! It's my favourite piece...

So tell me, what is that favourite piece of cross stitch and why? Do you have a favourite kit that you just had to get your hands on whatever the cost? Confess all and if you've got a picture, why not add it to our gallery. I'd love to see it and I know other vistors would too!

Until next time... Anna x

My favorite is my award winning piece from a local competition here in the Philippines. It was a scanned painting of a Filipino painter, entitled "Kalabaw" (or carabao). It won third prize. Its my favorite because its not like the ones we see on sale. There are only two of them, the original painting and my cross stitch.
