Nanna sooner than i think

Postby jayneb » Sun Mar 11, 2018 4:11 pm

As most of you know my step daughter is expecting her first baby , shes had few problems with pregnancy a cyst on ovary and the little one has water on his kidneys so being closely monitored.
Taken into hospital last week and diagnosed with preeclampsia sent home with tablets but she has been rushed in over the weekend with dangerously high blood pressure so on tablets and having steroids for baby if it comes early , just had message looks like its going to be days and we will have a little grandson just really scary times for everyone will keep you updated

Jayne hope your stepdaughter can keep the baby "in" for as long as possible. If not, the doctors will do all they can for the little one. Hope all goes well.

Oh Jayne I'm sorry to hear this. Pre-eclampsia is terrifying - that's what caused Harriet to come early and the scariest thing was, until about 36hrs before I had her I felt fine! I was kept in after a routine scan when they found I had proteinuria and high bp but a few days later I got the headache from hell and i'm so glad I was in hospital then as I would have just put it down to a migraine and not done much about it.

Before I forget, if she is on facebook, tell her and her partner to search for Parents of Preemies Support UK - its a brilliant group of mums and dads who have had their babies early. Think the earliest surviving baby we've got on there is one born at 22+4 and there's another wee boy who was born at 22+5 who is 1 in a couple of weeks and is doing so so well - he's so cheeky! These parents have seen most of it and make you realise that what you're going through is normal and that its okay to be scared/angry/happy etc and they'll also share the good and bad times with you. There is also a pre-eclampsia mums uk group too which is another one worth looking for.

Lots of love to your stepdaughter and grandson xxx
