Once you’ve finished stitching your design, trim it to size, using our photo as a guide for making up the various hangings. Attach your stitching to your chosen fabric choice to create a larger panel.

2. Download this heart template, cut it out and place over your stitched motif and fabric panel. Draw around it in pencil then cut it out. Do the same for the backing fabric. Hand or machine stitch around the edges of both fabric hearts to prevent fraying.

Cut a piece of ribbon 18cm (7in) long. Or why not make a perfectly coordinating cord, using the Kreinik Custom Corder with the help of our video tutorial - check it out here! Form a loop, then pin the ends to the top of the stitched heart, making sure it points down. Stitch in place.

Pin together the two pieces, with right sides facing. Using a 1cm (¼in) seam allowance, hand or machine stitch all the way around, leaving a small gap at the bottom for turning through. Turn through, pushing out corners, and press flat.

Firmly fill your decoration with wadding, evenly distributing it for a lump-free finish. Pin the gap and slip stitch it closed in matching thread.
