| Experimenting with your stitching |
1. Buy an assortment of different exciting-looking threads and see what amazing designs you can create with them.
2. If you always stick to working on aida, then try evenweave for a change; if you normally work on evenweave, then try stitching a design on linen.
3. Be adventurous with your choice of colour when selecting your fabric. Try stitching single coloured designs onto bright, vibrant fabrics for stunning results.
4. Don't just use seed beads - liven up your stitching with square, bugle and triangular beads to give added interest.
5. Learn some new stitches - a great way to do this is to stitch a traditional band sampler.
6. Make a design work for you - change its size by stitching on different counts of fabrics.
7. Use ready-made accessories to enhance your stitching. There is a huge range of products available, from trinket pots to garters, and from tablecloths to pencil cases.
8. Use unusual shaped card apertures to get your stitching noticed.
9. Join a stitching club - you'll pick up new ideas and expand your stitching skills as well as making some friends.
