KNOW-HOW

Putting some spring into your stitching

1. Clear out your stitching cupboard, so you know exactly what you've got in there.

2. Use DMC Flower Threads in your designs, they come in lots of gorgeous spring colours.

3. Visit your local needlecraft shop to see the range of lovely coloured fabrics that are available - add a fresh citrus look to your stitching with shades of bright yellow, orange or green.

4. Buy some new needles - they're not that expensive and old ones can snag your fabric and threads.

5. Invest in some brightly coloured ring binder files for all those loose charts you've cut out of magazines.

6. Treat yourself to a really good pair of embroidery scissors and keep them solely for your stitching.

7. Have a spring stitching swop shop with like-minded friends. The charts and threads they no longer want could have a new lease of life in your hands!

8. Teach yourself a new stitching skill - such as hardanger, blackwork or petitpoint - to add to your stitching repertoire.

9. Make a note of all the occasions in the coming year that you need to stitch for, so that you can be well prepared.

10. Subscribe to your favourite magazine from Origin Publishing - they're all jam packed full of top quality charts, ideas and features to brighten up your stitching all year round.
