| KNOW-HOW |

1. Use a beading needle as beads slip over it very easily making for easier stitching.
2. If you find picking up beads rather fiddly try using a bead nabber.
3. Check that the size of the beads works well with the count of fabric you are using.
4. Invest in some bead storage boxes to keep your beads neat and tidy, or use empty camera film canisters.
5. If you find French knots a bit tricky, sew a bead in their place instead.
6. Use a double mount to frame a picture with beads on it to stop the beads from touching the glass.
7. If your work needs washing, try and remember to do so before attaching the beads.
8. To iron your stitching, place it face down on a clean fluffy towel. As you iron the stitching, the towel will cushion the beads.
9. To attach transparent beads, use a thread that matches the background colour; when using opaque beads, choose a colour to match the bead itself.
10. To securely attach your bead, use two strands of cotton. As you complete the second arm of the cross stitch, allow one strand to fall either side of the bead, securing it firmly in position on the fabric.
