If you run out of fabric at the edges of your project, attach a separate piece of fabric to finish it off!

This is quite fiddly, but it's possible by using a piece of iron-on interfacing at the back to fuse the two pieces together. Make sure the edges you're joining are completely straight and that the holes along the join will still be visible for stitching. You can reinforce the join at the back by carrying your thread across it whenever possible.
